The neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is a set of tools and techniques, but it is so much more than that. It is an attitude and a methodology of knowing how to achieve your goals and get results.
Bandler and Grinder are the fathers of the neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). Neuro refers to your neurology; Linguistic refers to language; programming refers to how that neural language functions. In other words, learning NLP is like learning the language of your own mind.
NLP bases its science on some simple presuppositions:
People respond to their map of reality , not to reality itself. How people make sense of the world around them is through their senses and from their own personal experience. This means that each individual’s perception of an event is different.
Mind and body form a linked system. Your mental attitude affects your body and your health and, in turn, how you behave.
Behind every behaviour there is a positive intention. When we understand that the other people have some positive intention in what they say and do (however annoying and negative they may seem to us), it can be easier to stop getting angry and start moving forward.
There is no failure, only feedback. What seemed like failure can be thought of as success that just stopped too soon. With this understanding, we can stop blaming ourselves and others, find solutions and improve the quality of what we do.
An important belief NLP is based upon is the fact that we are always communicating , even when we remain silent: non-verbal communication can account for a large proposition of a message. While your intention may be clear to you, it is the other person’s interpretation and response that reflects your effectiveness. NLP teaches you the skills and flexibility to ensure that the message you send equals the message they receive.

Achievements become easier if activities are manageable, therefore anything can be accomplished if the task is broken down into small enough steps. NLP can help you learn how to analyse what needs to be done and find ways to be both efficient and effective.
Here is some simple but effective advice from NLP you may want to take into consideration in future:
Flexibility is the key to success. If what you’re doing isn’t working, do something else.
Choice is better than no choice. We are responsible for our choices, not just to what happens to us. Having options can provide more opportunities for achieving results.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming is like a user’s manual for the brain, and taking an NLP training is like learning how to become fluent in the language of your mind so that the ever-so-helpful “server” that is your unconscious will finally understand what you actually want out of life.
